“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain

Mark Twain’s words describes my sentiments perfectly wherever we resided or are residing, in Singapore, New York, Kuwait, or Bosnia….

Therefore, it is with this in mind, we hope that this will not just provide information of value but more……

Warmest regards,

From a family currently residing in the city of Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

It has been observed that many people thought that to preserve their culture would be to alienate all that is strange and new and yet there are others who thought that preservation is best throwing away or destroying anything old.

In retrospect, perhaps part of culture preservation should be that of something more, that which can neither be seen or heard but felt.

A certain je ne sais quoi  ….. Maybe the ability to improvise & innovate, possibly the indomitable spirit of humans with the ability to rise up despite incredible  challenges, or even the ability to empathize thus enabling to create simple but effective solutions to help many….

Possibly perchance through these experiences and understanding these hidden treasures, one can bring a different kind of souvenir back to wherever one calls home  …….

Provide a unique and invaluable insight to the rich diversity culture of current residence, i.e. Bosnia & Herzegovina.

  1. What a great quote in your leader for this About page! On our trips to China, we met many wonderful people including non-Chinese minorities living in China. We all learned that getting past the political nonsense and actually talking to people here and around the world is a great eye-opener.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Do come back again. The welcome mat is always out!

  3. Thanks for the like on my post about Heidelberg! I am fascinated by the Balkans region and I’m really interested in traveling in your neck of the woods sometime soon. If I were to make a short trip to Bosnia, which places are must-sees? I’m even more interested in visiting cities that are less well known. Any suggestions?
    Thanks again,

    • Hi, hi,
My recent post might be of interest to you! I.e. Konjic, others are Pocitelj, Blagaj, Warerfall Kravice, Stolac, Trebinje, etc. :). There are many places I find of interest, not sure which is must see for you. 🙂 But if you have never been to Bosnia, a good start is Bascarsija, old bazaar in Sarajevo.
Many regards & best wishes on your adventure! 🙂
